Hi all,
Does anyone know who repairs (preferably authorized) Sigma lenses in the Gauteng area?
I’ve managed to get a chip on my front lens glass (don’t ask how, I don’t know either 🙁 ) and it’s ruining a lot of my photos.

Thanx Dino. I phoned Bill but he couldn’t help me, referred me to Tudor in Cape Town, will give them a call later in the week

I have used a guy called Stephen Sonn at Sunray Photographic when I could not wait for my lens to go to CT and back for repair. He gets his spares from Sigma but dont know if he is an authorised repair agent.
In any case I have been satisfied with his work.
He is located in Linden -

Tudor are the authoriser repair people – drop it at your local Sigma dealer and they will arrange for Tudor to collect and deliver the lens to and from the Cape. They use overnight courier services and their service is usually outstanding. If I order a Sigma lens from Tudor before 3 in the afternoon – its dropped the following morning in Randburg at my shop – the Sigma lenses and Leica binoculars I have sent to them have all been handled in a very prompt, proffesional manner. I have no problem recomending that you have it sent down to them.
I was in the Sunray shop today in Linden – and met the technician there. He certainly looks like he knows his stuff and I will try out his service this week for a Fuji camera that a customer brought for repairs and for which Cameratek quoted over R2k to repair – and the customer agreed it was not worth fixing. I hope I can find a cheaper option for the customer than replacing his camera which up till now has been taking excellent pics. Its a sad state when cameras – even expensive ones – are seen as a disposable appliance which is not worth spending money to fix.

Bill Bunn in Randburg (011 791 0890) gave me great service fixing my 50-500mm Sigma lens. Knowledgable and very helpful, he undertook to get the lens back to me in one day and delivered on his promise. 🙂 Would certainly recommend him!

Maybe through a passing vehicle Rudi..
At Kruger, I tend to cover mine with my hand (for dust also). -
